An extension to the original Peter Barber Architects’ unique mews development in Islington. The extension provides the owner with a double-height space within the property & an additional living area in the loft space.

The properties’ access constraints required a solution that could be prefabricated and then erected on site. Due to this requirement, we worked closely with the architectural team & our Structurally Insulated Panel Supplier (SIPS) to create the structural roof that was prefabricated off-site & installed within one week on-site. The speed of this Modern Method of Construction helped us get watertight quickly and avoid disruption to the homeowner who remained in-situ throughout the refurbishment works.

The exterior is clad in zinc panelling with a number of unique details that the installers & architect implemented to give this installation a clean & minimalist finish to the cladding.

Internally, the property has had a new kitchen installation, staircase design & shadow gap detailing introduced throughout.
