As one of the new team members at Forma London, this is my 1st post, which I have decided to use to describe the buzz around the place, with the company continuing to go from strength to strength and growing well.
Since I joined in June 2019, we have taken on more experienced and fun professionals with the same ethos as the rest of us, both in the office and on-site. With all the new starters, it was clear that we would need a reconfiguration of our offices to get the working environment just right.
Following the successful use of birch ply desking at allplants (photoshoot coming soon!), we knew that in line with our company image and ethos, the large (donated) corporate desks we were using just weren’t right for us.
To meet the brief, we have opted to use a continuous worktop that flows around the perimeter of our main office area, with a workshop meeting space centrally located, as we are always needing to quickly meet and collaborate.
A few other tricks to give the team additional space have been achieved by mounting our main screens on adjustable wall brackets. All other available wall space has corkboard and blackboards to allow for brainstorming, photos, notes, etc to be pinned up, keeping desk areas clear.
Additional storage is handled by a high-level shelf that runs around the perimeter, with all the frames and brackets throughout being made using recycled timber from recent projects.
In addition to the new office space, our ‘Treehouse’ meeting room on the mezzanine has really helped bring the team together, allowing us to get more suppliers in for workshops and clients in to discuss the details they want for their space.
All in all, we are moving forward in the right way, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings!
